METACyt Research Nodes

Over the next five years, the METACyt initiative will invest approximately $25M in research and instrumentation support via five research nodes: Microbial Systems, Cell Signaling and Differentiation, Molecular Neurosciences, Molecular Evolutionary and Developmental Biology, and Analytical Technology Development. These nodes will take advantage of traditional areas of strength in IU Bloomington life sciences to strengthen our research base and to expand into newer areas of life sciences research. These areas include cancer research, systems biology, and nanobiology, to name just a few. New research programs aimed at creating national centers of excellence will form the focal areas of this research.
